Child Protection Register Growing 

   According to Nursery World there has been a 60 per cent increase of the
   number of children on the child protection register in England since
   2006, Northern Ireland had a 46 per cent increase, Wales a 33 per cent
   increase and Scotland a 19 per cent increase.
   The figures were released at the start of a major international child
   protection conference organised by the British Association for the
   Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect ([5]BASPCAN), which
   runs until 18 April.

Top up fees for Nursery Education Entitlement

   Officials from the Department for Education are investigating concerns
   that the practice of charging parents top-up fees for the free
   entitlement for nursery education continues to be widespread. Nursery
   world points to reports that parents are being billed in
   excess of £1000 per term for their children to attend the 15 hour
   education allowance. This will become increasingly policed as more
   cases come to light with the government.

   When accepting shifts in our Nurseries please can we remind all staff
   to carry with them their ID card, CRB and also a pair of slippers or
   indoor shoes this will ensure you are not turned away from any shift.
